“Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow”? Well, It Doesn’t Have to Be

Everyone wants healthy, beautiful hair that is simple to style. However, getting there isn’t always easy, as the vast majority of us struggle with a hair problem that prevents us from having lustrous locks. Having a full, thick head of hair is often seen as a sign of good health and genetics. Hair health, however, may be affected by a number of internal and external factors. Therefore, it is important to understand what causes hair loss and to take measures to prevent further thinning.

Hair thinning or thinning in general is quite prevalent. Environmental pollutions, unhealthy diet and improper eating habits, stress, hormonal imbalance, using the wrong or harsh chemical-based hair care products, excessive use of hair blowers or hair styling products, allergies, age, heredity, etc. are just some of the reasons why growing more hair seems like a pipe dream.

While it’s not possible to alter the structure of your hair follicles, you may take steps like eating a healthy diet and massaging your scalp to make your hair look fuller and less prone to breakage and thinning.

In this article, Sirwiss-associated Salon service providers outline many natural ways that a person can try at home to make hair appear and feel thicker. If you are someone who is interested in decreasing hair-fall and having hair that has volume, it is recommended that you continue reading this article.

What is Hair Volume?

The number of hair follicles that sprout from the surface of the hair at a rate of one per square inch is the primary factor that determines hair volume. Commonly, it is understood to refer to the amount of hair that emerges from the scalp at the root, as well as the look of fullness and the density of the hair. Between 80,000 to 120,000 hair strands are found on the normal human scalp. The vertex, also known as the crown, is the highest point on the head and is where the hair volume is typically at its densest and most considerable.

Factors Affecting Hair Volume

On the scalp of the typical human, there are 2,200 hair strands per square inch. This number could be affected by a number of factors, including the following:

1. Genes

Hair condition is largely determined by a person’s genetic code. The majority of hair loss conditions, including male-pattern and female-pattern baldness, have a genetic basis. Additionally, heredity may lead to fewer hair follicles and thinner hair.

2. Chemical exposure

The use of cosmetics containing parabens, sulphates, formaldehyde, and isopropyl alcohol can cause hair to become brittle and sparse. Similarly, the chemicals used in keratin treatments, hair dyes, and hair bleaches may cause hair loss.

3. Medical Problems

Thyroid issues, anemia, and allergies can contribute to telogen effluvium or hair loss.

4. Stress

Hair thinning is caused by various factors, including stress and mental disturbance. Stress can harm the hair directly or negatively affect the immune system and hormone levels.

5. Hormonal Changes

When going through hormonal changes, it’s common for hair density to decrease regardless of gender. In women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a condition in which an excess of testosterone causes hair to become brittle and sparse, resulting in diminished hair volume, hormone-related hair loss is more prevalent.

6. Improper Diet

A lack of sufficient nutrition or a nutritional deficiency can harm the hair follicles, causing hair loss and slowing hair development.

7. Ageing

As catabolism rises and skin cells and building abilities decline, reduced hair volume is a common side effect of ageing.

8. Excessive Styling

Hair damage can be caused by extreme heat damage, not shampooing or yanking the hair.

9. Pollution

Environmental contaminants are very vulnerable to the hair, and excessive exposure can contribute to poor hair health.

How to Measure and Increase Hair Volume?

1. Ocular Check

A simple ocular examination is a more practicable method for estimating hair volume at home. If the scalp can be observed prior to moving the hair, the hair volume is likely to be low. If you must slightly modify your hair to expose your scalp, the density is typically somewhere in the middle. If it is difficult to see the cranium, hair density is unquestionably important.

2. Ponytail Check

Another prominent web measure is the ponytail test. The test is conducted by tying the hair into a ponytail and calculating the circumference. This test may provide an indication of the volume of your hair, but the density of each hair strand also influences the breadth of your ponytail. Obviously, you can only do this if your hair is long enough to form a ponytail.

3. Volscian Profiler

Using the Volscian Profiler to evaluate hair structure requires dynamic analysis, sample movement, and laser measurement. In a short amount of time, this instrument can also perform a broad variety of digital volumetric measurements.

How to Increase Hair Volume?

In most cases, regular hair care and numerous homemade treatments can help to increase hair density. If self-care techniques fail or a person has a health condition that causes hair loss and thinning, medical attention may be required.
